Facebook group tightens Brooklyn community
NEW YORK (FOX 5 NEWS) - At nearly 8,600 members, the Sunset Parker Facebook group, started by neighbor Tony Giordano, has become a staple in the Brooklyn community.
Its members use it to post everything going on in the neighborhood: from lost pets, to the location of pot holes, to daily alternate side parking rules.
Just last year, a young boy was lost and found unattended inside the neighborhood park. After posting a picture of the boy on the Facebook page, Tony says what happened next was a miracle. He says within a few minutes someone recognized the boy and knew what daycare he had come from.
Tony administers the page every day, personally vetting every post -- while sitting on his front stoop.
