NEW YORK (FOX5NY) - Several of the racks used for the popular bicycle renting service called CitiBike, are empty across New York City.
Most complaints about a lack of bikes available have been reported on the Upper West Side and Upper East Side.
Midtown Manhattan bike riders say some locations in that area are also lacking bikes.
According to an official from CitiBikes, "CitiBike is incredibly popular and with the mild weather we've been having this spring we're seeing record ridership. This popularity means that stations in busy areas empty out in the mornings as commuters grab them to go to work."
What doesn't remain clear is where the missing bikes are.
