Elderly woman attacked on Queens street

A bike-riding thug injured and robbed an elderly lady who was just walking down a Queens street on Saturday.

The NYPD says the 92-year-old woman was walking down 46th St. in Astoria about 7:30 p.m. when a man on a bicycle rode up behind her.  The man forcibly grabbed the woman's purse off of her shoulder.  The woman fell to the ground during the robbery, causing her to suffer a laceration to her nose and pain to her left shoulder and arm.

The woman was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in stable condition.  Police released security footage that shows the man they are looking for.  Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.  Police say that all calls are strictly confidential.
