NEW YORK (FOX 5 NEWS) - Victims of domestic violence came together Tuesday night to share their stories. Domestic violence is really everybody's issue.
On the steps of Brooklyn Borough Hall, Borough President Eric Adams, other politicians and survivors took on the serious issue. Part of what Adams and other are working on includes the hurdles many DV survivors face. But those who haven't experienced first-hand wouldn't know.
How do you vote if you're living in a shelter and can't share your address for privacy reasons? Can leases be broken for DV victims?
The motto here was echoed throughout the night: We will not only survive, we will thrive.
