Cops save dog from burning house on Long Island

- Two police officers on Long Island put their lives on the line to rescue a dog from a burning house on Friday afternoon.

Police Officer Joseph Barra and Police Officer Stephen Caratozzolo were circling a house on fire on Meadow Rue Lane in East Northport when the saw the dog through a rear window, according to the Suffolk County PD. They then went into the house through the back door, grabbed the dog, and got out safely.

However, medics brought Barra and Caratozzolo to Stony Brook University Hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation. They are expected to recover.

Police identified the pooch as a 5-year-old Pomeranian mix named Gucci, who will be OK.
