De Blasio makes good on World Series bet with KC mayor

Mayor de Blasio made good on his World Series bet with Kansas City Mayor Sly James on Friday by donning a Royals Jersey and belting out the Midwestern city's bluesy theme song. A sunglasses and fedora-clad De Blasio released a video of him singing the R&B classic "Kansas City" on Youtube Friday.

He warbled the song - which the Beatles famously covered - in front of an old-fashioned microphone with junior members of the American Ballet Theater dancing in the background.

"Ok, Mayor James, a bet is a bet," he said. "I'm the mayor of the greatest city in the world but right now I gotta take a trip to Kansas City.

The video is titled, "Kansas City like you've never heard it before.

The rhythm-challenged mayor warbles the classic as the dancers clap and pirouette around him.

"I'm going to Kansas, going get my baby one time," he sang.

De Blasio also sent his Kansas City counterpart - whose team beat the Mets to snag the World Series - some Junior's cheesecake.

James enjoyed it.

"KC has best BBQ, but NYC has @JuniorsCheeseck & it's incredible! " he tweeted.
