Hawk warning issued in Connecticut

Police in one Connecticut town are warning residents after a series of hawk attacks.

In the most recent case, a Fairfield woman was attacked by a hawk in her yard.  It happened on March 19 on Old Mill Road.

All of the hawk incidents involve hawks flying in undetected from behind a single person walking.  The hawks target the head area of the walker in their attacks.

Police warn people to use caution and be aware when walking alone.  Authorities say animal control agents will be patrolling the affected area on a regular basis.

Federal wildlife officials have been contacted and will be responding to remove the hawk or hawks, authorities said.
