Comey book: Trump is unethical, untruthful

- Nearly a year after he was fired, former FBI Director James Comey is firing back at President Trump in his new memoir A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies, and Leadership.

"This president is unethical, and untethered to truth and institutional values," Comey wrote.

In the book, Comey compared the president to a mob boss who pressured him for loyalty when it came to the Russia investigation.

"The demand was like [mobster] Sammy the Bull's cosa nostra induction ceremony," he wrote.

The book mirrors Comey's public testimony on Capitol Hill about his contacts with Trump while also offering new insight into private conversations. Trump wanted Comey to investigate salacious allegations about claims involving Russian prostitutes because the President wanted to convince his wife that it wasn't true, according to the book.

"In what kind of marriage, to what kind of man, does a spouse conclude there is only a 99 percent chance her husband didn't do that?" Comey wrote.

Comey's firing in May 2017 in part prompting the U.S. Justice Department's special counsel investigation. Trump is now pushing back on rumors that he wants to fire Robert Mueller.

"I have agreed with the historically cooperative, disciplined approach that we have engaged in with Robert Mueller (unlike the Clintons!)," Trump tweeted.
