Photo shows bag used in 2016 Central Park explosion

NEW YORK (FOX5NY.COM) - Two years ago, Connor Golden, then 18, was hanging out with friends in Central Park. He jumped off a rock and stepped on an explosive. He had to have multiple surgeries and have the lower part of his leg amputated. Since then, he has learned to move around with a prosthetic leg.

Kevin Golden, Connor's father, told Fox 5 via Skype that police have yet to bring anyone to justice and don't appear to have a suspect. Kevin said the family is very anxious to find out who would do such a thing.

The New York Field Division of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives on Tuesday released a picture of the bag the explosive was packaged in. The bag comes from a bakery in Union City, New Jersey, that has not used this type of packaging for years. It reads "La Unica Tropical Crackers."

"That package has unique markings, and if folks recognize it we want to hear from you," Special Agent in Charge Ashan Benedict of the ATF's New York Field Division told Fox 5. "We don't believe it is [terrorism]. All the traditional indicators of terrorism are absent."

Now the ATF and Connor's family are hoping someone might see this packaging and offer some new information that may help solve this case.

"It's important for the public to know we haven't stopped looking at this case in two years," Benedict said. "We're using today as an opportunity to bring it forward again to their attention."
