Burger King introduces chicken fries in the shape of rings

Hold the phone, America. Burger King just debuted new circular-shaped chicken fries.

Officially called Chicken Fries Rings, the fast food chain says they are "optimal shape for dipping."

"More and more of our guests are coming in for chicken," Burger King North America President Alex Macedo said Monday in a release.

Burger King's chicken fries, which are essentially chicken nuggets in the shape of a french fry, have been very popular, according to the company -- including petitions, tweets and Facebook pages last year begging for their return.

For a limited time, the chicken fries rings are available nationwide at $2.89 for six pieces.

Meanwhile, Burger King also announced Monday that it's bringing back its $1.49 10-piece nuggets deal.
