Brooklyn Bridge Park basketball courts controversy

NEW YORK (FOX 5 NEWS) - A hoops controversy grows in Brooklyn.

Some locals claim basketball courts at Brooklyn Bridge Park are being taken over by players from all over the city.

And not everyone is happy about it.

According to some, the basketball courts on Pier 2 aren't popular w residents in places like Brooklyn Heights. Whether it's rooted in safety concerns, after a shooting last year, and typical street ball banter or issues that touch on race and class or just the opinions of a few is unclear. So I asked some folks.

The courts are part of a redeveloped mile and half of former industrial space.
