Artist Rachel Valdes Camejo's Times Square project

A new art project is giving New Yorkers a good reason to brave the crowds in Times Square. Rachel Valdes Camejo's mystifying installation offers a new space for self-reflection in Times Square. It's her first public art project in New York City, representing a new chapter for Camejo and her home country of Cuba

Camejo came all the way from Havana to challenge our perception of the world around us. The painter and artist revealed her latest piece in the heart of our city. Three mirrored surfaces create a seemingly infinite corridor that multiplies the energy of Times Square.

"The Beginning of the End" is a collaboration between Times Square Arts and the Cuban Artists Fund, a non-profit created to expand the global impact of Cuban arts.

Comejo sources materials from Germany and assembles her installations in Spain. She hopes the Cuban boom will bring change for her people and add new dimension to the rich cultural landscape Comejo calls home.

"The Beginning of the End" will remain open in Times Square through November 21, 2016.
