Armed man stole teen's Yeezy sneakers

New York City police are searching for a man who they say stole a pair of designer sneakers from a 17-year-old boy in a shoe swap scheme.

he robbery happened at about 12:15 p.m. Saturday in Manhattan near an event called Sneaker Con NYC. Police say the suspect had agreed to meet with the victim to buy a pair of Yeezy sneakers for $340 following an online conversation.

Police say the suspect and victim met at the 42nd St. Times Square subway station. Authorities say the suspect flashed a gun in his waistband after he said he needed to break a $100 bill. Police say the suspect grabbed the victim's shoes and ran away.

Police have released surveillance footage of the suspect. His is a Hispanic man, approximately 23-years-old, 6' tall and 190 pounds.
