Another Trader Joe's coming to Brooklyn in 2016

Brooklyn is getting another Trader Joe's grocery store in 2016. This one will be located in Downtown Brooklyn inside what will be a massive mixed-use development at Flatbush Avenue near Fulton Street. The development, called City Point, will have residential units, offices, and shops. Trader Joe's has signed a lease to be the grocery anchor tenant, the developers announced.

"Trader Joe's has stayed true to its roots by leveraging a sustainability-driven and honest approach to how people shop for high-quality food," Chris Conlon of Acadia Realty Trust said in a statement. "Like Trader Joe's, City Point has remained steadfast in its commitment to providing local residents and visitors with a destination that meets their needs."

You'll find Trader Joe's on the concourse level, next to DeKalb Market Hall, a 26,000-square-foot food court featuring dozens of eateries. Other retail tenants will include Century 21, CityTarget, and Alamo Drafthouse Cinema.

Trader Joe's has more than 440 stores in 39 states. One of those stores is actually located at Atlantic Avenue and Court Street in Cobble Hill, less than a mile away from the site of the future TJ's.
