Another body of teenager found on Long Island

Police have found the body of another teenager on the grounds of a Brentwood psychiatric center.

Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives say the body of Jose Pena-Hernandez, 18, was discovered on October 17, 2016 in a wooded area at Pilgrim Psychiatric Center.

They say that Pena-Hernandez was a known MS-13 gang member.  He was reported missing on June 13, 2016.

An autopsy will be conducted by the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner to determine the cause of death.

This is the fifth body of a teenager found in that area.  All of the deaths are believed to be gang related.

Two sets of skeletal remains were found at the hospital in September. Police identified one victim as 19-year-old Oscar Acosta, who went missing on May 2.   The second was been identified as Miguel Garcia-Moran, 15, who vanished in February.

Two girls were betten to death in that same area.  Someone killed Nissa Mickens, 15, and left her in the street in front of a home in Brentwood, Long Island. A day later police found the body of Nissa's friend, Kayla Cueva, 16, in the woods behind the same home.

Federal agents are currently looking into the possible link between the bodies found in Brentwood and MS-13.

Suffolk Police Commissioner Thomas Sini was set to give a media briefing on the case on Thursday afternoon.
