Angry customer tries to burn down store

Police in New York City are looking for an angry customer who attacked a bodega worker and then tried to burn down the store.

It happened Sunday morning at the First Stop Grocery Deli on White Plains Road in the Bronx.

The NYPD says the customer got into a verbal dispute with the 30-year-old employee at about 6 a.m.  Police say it then escalated into a physical confrontation.

Later that same day, the man returned to the store and spread the contents of a canister of flammable liquid in front of and inside the store and lit it on fire.  He then ran away.

The store employee was able to extinguish the flames and the fire caused only minor damage.  No one was hurt.

Police say the man they are looking for is black, in his 20s and was last wearing a black hoodie, denim vest and blue pants. They released video of him.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).  Police say that all calls are confidential.
