Afeni Shakur, mother of Tupac Shakur, dead at 69

Afeni Shakur, the mother of the late hip-hop legend Tupac Shakur, died late Monday night at the age of 69, reported TMZ.

Shakur was found unconscious at her Sausalito, CA home at around 9:43 PM, possibly from a cardiac arrest, reported TMZ.

She was rushed to a local hospital and was pronounced dead at 10:28 PM.

Recognized as a philanthropist and the founder of the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation, Alfeni Shakur was also a Black Panther.

A bio-pic about her son, "All Eyez on Me," had been given Alfeni Shakur's approval, according to TMZ.

The Marin County Sheriff says the coroner will investigate to determine the exact cause of Afeni's death.
