A McDonald's Customer Was Moved to Tears Over a Trooper's Random Act of Kindness

Alabama (FOX NEWS) A McDonald's customer said she was moved to tears when she saw an Alabama State Trooper's random act of kindness.

Jenny Reed was waiting at the drive-thru window at the fast food restaurant in Bessemer on Friday when she noticed the officer in front of her, seemingly ordering some lunch.

But then she noticed that he parked his SUV, opened the back door and let a man out.

The man was homeless, so the officer handed him some food to eat.

Reed said she couldn't help but tell the officer that he was a hero. He explained to her that the man was homeless, had not eaten in three days, and was trying to get to North Carolina.

"I have always had respect for public servants but he just raised the bar," she wrote.

"As a trooper - our main job is to save lives and protect property, but as a Christian and as a human being that's just the right thing to do," he said.

O'Neal explained that he picked the man up when he saw him walking along a highway.

The trooper said that he drove the man about 15 miles - as far as he could take him - and prays that the man received more help in order to get to North Carolina.
