George Zimmerman, the man who was found not guilty in the shooting death of unarmed teen Trayvon Martin in 2012, says he wants to help his friend who is being sued by the Council of Islamic-American relations.
Zimmerman is selling prints of his Confederate flag on the Florida Gun Supply website.
“I was painting the American flag . The caption ‘The 2nd Protects Our 1st’ has a double entendre. When I heard of you getting sued by CAIR, I decided to do for you what the American people did for me," says Zimmerman in a video posted to YouTube.
Zimmerman's friend, Andy Hallinan , says his store is "Muslim-free.'
"If it wasn’t for all the great patriotic people we have in this nation who donated to my legal defense fund we couldn’t not have kept up the fight. We did not have the money for the hard costs it took to defend me. I didn’t want to see you give up the fight simply for financial reasons," said Zimmerman.
CAIR says it has sued Hallinan for violating federal laws that prohibit discrimination based on religion in public accommodations.
