89 displaced, 9 buildings damaged in Bronx fire

Officials say 89 people have been displaced by a massive fire that ripped through nine multiple row houses in the Bronx. They say six firefighters and three civilians were treated for minor injuries.
The FDNY says the blaze broke out just before midnight Friday 2086 Valentine Avenue and East 180th Street in Fordham Heights.
The fire quickly escalated and spread to eight other two- and three-story buildings. It was contained at 3:04 a.m.
Health officials advised area residents to keep their windows closed and stay indoors if possible due to acrid smoke from the fire.
Officials are investigating the cause of the blaze.
Three of the nine buildings affected were vacant.
The Red Cross was assisting those who lost their homes.
