NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — Holiday travelers will see a greater police presence in the wake of the terrorist attacks in Paris.
The Port Authority has stationed more officers at its airports, bus terminals, train stations and Hudson River crossings.
New Jersey Transit is offering early getaway rail service Wednesday from New York, Newark and Hoboken. There also will be extra buses on select routes from the Port Authority Bus Terminal.
AAA says more than 1 million New Jersey residents are expected to travel more than 50 miles this Thanksgiving weekend. Most will do so by car and State Police are increasing patrols throughout the holiday.
Motorists will pay less for gasoline in New Jersey. AAA says the average price for regular is $1.98 per gallon. That's 76 cents lower than 2014.
