4-year-old wears late mom's wedding dress

A 4-year-old girl donned her mother’s wedding dress for a heartwarming photo shoot to honor the woman who passed away more than a year ago.

Amber Davis died of cervical cancer last year, but in October, the family took the time to honor her and create a special moment for her daughter Nora.

After Amber's diagnosis, she had contacted her photographer friend, founder of My Three Arrows photography, with an idea.

"She texted me a picture of a child in her mom’s wedding dress maybe six months before she passed away and she said, 'we have to do this for Nora.' I was really excited about it and thought it was a cool way to use your wedding dress,” said Heidi Spillane, who has known Amber since they were kids.

But soon, Amber’s health took a decline and she succumbed to the disease. So the Davis family wanted to grant her wish in her memory.

“She had talked to me about it and I had promised her that I was going to do it. I wanted to wait until they were ready and until it could be an enjoyable happy moment and a moment for Nora to connect with her mom,” Spillane told InsideEdition.com

Spillane said she was nervous that the day might be a heavy one, but that all changed once she saw how excited Nora was.

Amber’s sister, Adrianne Scott Blackwelder, said she was delighted that the day was so special for her niece, who is one of three of Amber’s and Derek’s children.

“We had her pampered by one of Amber’s good friends. We went to the place where Derek and Amber were married. We talked about the wedding. Nora felt the day and experience was very special,” Scott Blackwelder said. “Kids are so innocent and sweet. It was just happy and that’s how Amber wanted it to be.”
