Prosthetic limbs at a lower cost via 3D printing

Something very exciting is going on in the world of creative technology, art, and health. Life can be challenging for a young child who needs a prosthetic. It is especially difficult when the cost is tough on the family budget.

This is where the organization Limbitless Solutions comes in with 3D-printed limbs for young people at a fraction of the cost of usual prosthetics. Not only that, the limbs look really cool, too.

Katie Manero, the artistic director of Limbitless Solutions, spoke to Fox 5 about how this program started four years ago with a group of engineering students building a bionic arm for a young boy. She said that Limbitless Solutions has helped 20 young people so far and hopes to help many, many more.
