NEW JERSEY (FOX 5 NEWS) - The Coast Guard, NYPD, FDNY, and other agencies were searching for a possible missing kite surfer off the shore off Sandy Hook in New Jersey Friday evening.
A boater witnessed a kite surfer in distress near Horseshoe Cove in Sandy Hook Bay at about 5:30 p.m., the Coast Guard said. The boater investigated and said the kite had blown away and the surfer had vanished.
