Who is Anthony Scaramucci?

- Before joining the campaign in April 2016, Scaramucci was a vocal critic of Donald Trump, the candidate.

So what do we know about Scaramucci, and how did he bury that hatchet with the president?

A lot of people are wondering who is this guy and how did he get here?

Anthony Scaramucci describes himself as a guy from a working class Italian family on Long Island who ascended in the world of finance, got to know Trump a number of years ago, was on his transition team, and now here we are.

Before Anthony Scaramucci was tapped to take over as White House communications director, he was a Harvard-educated Wall Street guy and the founder of billion-dollar global investment firm Skybridge Capital.

Scaramucci is also the cohost of the Friday night show "Wall Street Week" on Fox Business.

While the straight talking Long Island hedge fund magnate known as "The Mooch" made sure his first day on the job was characterized by confidence in his new boss, “I think he’s got some of the best political instincts in the world and perhaps in history.”

That's a far cry from how he used to talk about the commander in chief.

As recently as 2015, Scaramucci appeared on mornings with Maria, trash talking then- candidate Trump, calling him a hack politician and a class divider.

And maybe some of that was bombastic TV talk, after all he has known Trump for many years, having first met him when he was 31-years-old working at Goldman Sachs.

Scaramucci has since taken time to apologize to his longtime friend for comments past.
