“I felt a jolt and everybody started falling all over the place,” said one passenger.

Bus riders were shaken, but had no serious injuries.

Outside the bus was a different story- Chyna Burke said the car spun out of control, jumped the sidewalk, and took down pedestrians in its path.

“When I jumped into the cubby hole to avoid getting hit, people were on the ground. I wanted to help them, but I told people to leave them for when the ambulance comes,” she said.

Of the 12 people hurt, two of them were police officers.

Their injuries were minor.

Whether or not drug or alcohol where involved in this accident is still unclear. Some witnesses who were out on the street when this happened said they saw the driver on his phone, but that has not yet been confirmed.
