Penn Station main entrance reopens after flooding

- The main entrance to Penn Station in Manhattan that was closed Friday afternoon due to heavy rain flooding the area has reopened.

New Jersey Transit said that Tracks 7 and 8 were out of service because of the flooding. Service was restored, but the wet staircases on the 7th Avenue side remain closed so commuters are packing into elevators to get down to the platform.

On Wednesday, a ceiling pipe burst at the station, dumping gallons of disgusting-smelling water on a Long Island Rail Road concourse and then down to a platform below.
