NWS: Tornado ripped through western Pennsylvania

A tornado ripped across western Pennsylvania, Monday evening, according to the National Weather Service.

The EF-0 tornado smashed windows and windshields, knocked down tree limbs, and tore into roof shingles in Butler County. The weakest kind of tornado, an EF-0 has wind speeds from 65mph to 85 mph.

National Weather Service teams went out to assess the damage on Tuesday. Officials are also inspecting damage in other areas in Center County that may have also been hit by a tornado. The NWS said it would release more details "later."

Right now there is no official word on how many properties the twister damaged.
