It is tough for parents to keep up with latest codes and acronyms their kids are using to text each other. But there are some codes they must know to keep their kids safe.

Titania Jordan is the chief parenting officer at Bark, which bills itself as your family's watchdog for Internet safety.  She says parents might want to know when kids are talking about sex, hooking up, and drug use. Bark For example, "53x" means "sex." "99" means "parents are gone, not at home." "Netflix and chill" is code for hooking up.

Jordan says there are also codes for suicidal thoughts and bullying. "Kms" stands for "kill myself." "Kys" means "kill yourself." She says "gabbing" is a dance move, but it is also code for a concentrated form of cannabis.
