NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - Plenty of fallout days before the presidential election as Donald Trump expanded his attack- going after more than just Hillary Clinton.
Donald Trump attacked Hillary Clinton at a rally in Colorado. Trump’s attack was in response to a new FBI review of Clinton’s private email server 4 months after the agency cleared her of wrong-doing. During her campaign in Florida, Clinton said Trump is trying to blow up the situation.
"He is doing his best to confuse, mislead, and discourage the American people. I think it's time for Donald Trump to stop fear-mongering, to stop disgracing himself," said Clinton.
FBI director James Comey made public the discovery of more emails linked to Clinton’s private server, which was found during an investigation into former congressman Anthony Weiner. Weiner's wife, Huma Abedin, is a top aide to Clinton. Trump said she can't be trusted because of her relationship to Weiner.
"I wonder, is she going to keep Huma? It's been a problem, don't we agree? Huma has been a problem. I wonder if Huma is going to stay there and I hope they haven't given Huma immunity."
Clinton put her focus on criticizing FBI director Comey during her rally on Saturday. Her campaign accuses him of making the independent decision to publicly comment on the new email investigation, after reports claimed the justice department and attorney general Loretta Lynch discouraged him to do so.
"It is pretty strange to put something like that out with such little information right before an election," said Clinton.
Fox news was told that director Comey acknowledges that the agency does not know what these emails contain or if they will matter. According to reports, the attorney general objected to Comey publicizing the emails, especially right before the election.
As for Trump's response - he believes Clinton promised Lynch re-appointment if she showed support.
