FBI to reopen investigation into Clinton emails

- FBI Director James Comey has sent a letter to the  House Judiciary Committee about new emails related to the investigation of Hillary Clinton's private e-mail server.

According to the letter sent Friday, emails have been discovered that are "pertinent to the investigation."

It was not clear from Comey's letter where the new emails came from or who sent or received them.

Comey goes on to say that the "FBI cannot yet assess whether or not this material may be significant."

Earlier this year, the Democratic presidential nominee told the FBI she never sought or asked permission to use a private server or email address during her tenure as Secretary of State from 2009 to 2013.

A prior review by the State Department's internal watchdog concluded the practice violated several polices for the safekeeping and preservation of federal records.

The FBI said in July its investigation was finished.

Clinton's campaign didn't immediately respond.
