3-ingredient juice from WellWell

- WellWell's founders believe wholeheartedly that what you do with your body and what you put into it determine who you are. What you're putting into your body when you're drinking WellWell is simple. It is cold-pressed juice with just three ingredients: watermelon, tart cherry, and biodynamic lemon.

Co-founder Sagan Schultz says the juice has no hidden ingredients. They don't add water or sugar. WellWell is completely natural, 100 percent organic, and super clean.

Those simple ingredients are packed with potassium, anti-oxidants, L-citruline, and lycopene to help bodies recover.

Schultz says the juice has extra-functional benefits. It's anti-inflammatory and can help with muscle recovery.

Components of the juice have been studied in humans in clinical trials to help with sports recovery. Added bonus? Chernow says it's incredibly refreshing.

Schultz, a sommelier who is currently finishing at joint MD-MBA at NYU, came up with the concoction and pitched it to Chernow, owner of seven restaurants including The Meatball Shop and Seamore's.

Both of them are fitness junkies. Chernow says they live the life they're trying to help people recover from. He and Schultz brought in Larry Praeger of Dr. Praeger's Sensible Foods and photographer Collin Hughes. They launched WellWell in all of Whole Foods' Northeast stores.

This month, they opened their first storefront at the Soho Strength Lab on Mulberry, across the street from Seamore's, where the ice cream window has WellWell soft serve.

Chernow says the storefront was an amazing opportunity to say "Hey, we exist. We're around. We're not only at Whole Foods."

At $5 a bottle, WellWell is cheaper than a lot of other cold-pressed juices out there. Chernow says they're not going to make a ton of money on every bottle, but that's not their goal. They're trying to build a brand that speaks to a larger audience.

Schultz says that you're working hard whether you're a basketball player, you work at a hospital, or you have three kids and you're a single mom. He says WellWell is a way to help you with that recovery process and help you be unstoppable in whatever it is that you're doing.
