NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - A water main that ruptured in the Chelsea section of Manhattan flooding several streets has been repaired.
Emergency crews responded to widespread flooding in the area of West 28th St. and West 29th St.; and 8th Ave. and 9th Ave.
The break appears to have occurred below 9th Ave. near West 29th St.
Water flowed from the break zone to West 26th St. where it collected in storm drains.
Firefighters set up sand bags in front of a building on West 29th St.
Pumps were brought in to remove water from basements.
After crews made repairs, water service was restored to all customers.
