Jury selection begins in 'Bridge Gate' trial

- Jury selection began Thursday in the George Washington Bridge lane-closure scandal.

Defense lawyers were expected to make arguments in federal court in Newark about what evidence could be admitted.

Bridget Anne Kelly, the former aide to Gov. Chris Christie, and Bill Baroni, former official at the Port Authority, pleaded not guilty to all charges last year.

Kelly is responsible for infamous email in which she wrote, "Time for some traffic problems in Fort Lee."

All eyes will also be on Christie, who has denied knowing about the plan to close lanes in Fort Lee in retaliation for the town's mayor failing to endorse Christie for re-election.

The names on a list of unindicted co-conspirators and evidence that allegedly links the governor to the bridge's closing in 2013 are expected to be revealed during the trial.

Opening arguments could begin as soon as Sept. 19.
