NEW YORK - Police have finally captured an alligator that was making its home in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park in Queens. The 110th Precinct tweeted that Emergency Services Unit officers and a civilian caught the reptile Tuesday. After the capture, police turned over the two-footer to park rangers, who were set to bring the alligator to animal control.
DNAinfo.com reported that a Queens bike mechanic used a fishing rod to flip over the alligator, pull him out of the water, and help cops subdue it and take it into custody.
The alligator was first spotted in the park several weeks ago.
