2 men tried to lure NJ students into van: Cops

The Elmwood Park Chief of Police warned parents on Thursday that two men tried to lure two elementary school children in separate incidents into a minivan.

The men, described by Chief Michael Foligno as dark skinned and traveling in a dark colored minivan with rear tinted windows, yelled out to the children "You're beautiful, do you want me to drop you off?"

In each case, the children ran off and were not pursued.

Both incidents- one on Dec. 4 and the other on Dec. 5- occurred at about 4 p.m. on Gilbert Ave. between Speidel St. and Elm St.

More police wer deployed to the school area, said Foligno in a letter to residents.
