Dirt bikes, ATVs marauding in Times Square

- It's an unwelcome scene, now all too familiar to New Yorkers: marauding motorcyclists. This time it was in busy Times Square.

Cops say that around 1:30 a.m. Saturday, about 30 people were recklessly weaving their motorcycles in and out of traffic in the heart of Times Square, forcing vehicles to swerve around them, while revving their engines and putting pedestrians at risk.

Police said the situation got so out of control and that one biker was arrested for reckless endangerment. That biker tried to speed away, and police say he almost struck an officer.

State Sen. Brad Hoylman, who represents the area, says he is considering introducing a bill to Senate that would ban illegal dirt bikes from wreaking havoc across the city.

But despite some peoples' fears, other New Yorkers say they'd actually love the chance to see the brazen cyclists in action.
