- Pop princess Britney Spears, a native of Kentwood, Louisiana, has partnered with the American Red Cross to raise money for flood victims in her home state.

13 people have been killed and 40,000 are homeless due to recent heavy rains.

According to her Facebook page, for every $10 donation, Spears will raffle away the outfit she wears to the upcoming MTV Video Music Awards or give a fan the chance to meet her in New York City.

"I've teamed up with @redcross and @crowdrise to raise funds for the victims of the horrible flooding in my home state of louisiana," spears, 34, tweeted.

A state of emergency is in effect in flood-ravaged parts of Louisiana until Sept. 10.
