NEW YORK (FOX5NY) - Limited service has been restored on the Ronkonkoma, Port Jefferson and Oyster Bay branches of the Long Island Rail Road.
Trains on the Ronkonkoma and Port Jefferson lines are making all local stops and will be operating at a reduced speed through Mineola.
Riders should expect delays of 60 to 90 minutes.
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority says an unauthorized person was struck by a train west of Mineola Station at about 8:30 a.m.
The transit agency is advising customers to use alternate branches and follow updates on social media.
