Call it the rise of the robot traffic cop.  A new, portable speed camera is being marketed as nearly indestructible... even bulletproof.

It is being sold by Vitroonic, a German company that manufactures a range of speed enforcement equipment.

It's been called an enforecment trailer and is equiped with an independent power supply with high-performance batteries that allows the device to operate for five days without being charged.

It records license plates and takes photos of drivers.  The technology can monitor multiple lanes and objects at the same time.

The copmany calls it an autonomous solution for speed enforcement and can be remotely controlled.

It has an armor-plated exterior making it bullet-proof and also has an alarm if someone tries to tamper with it.

All of the enforcement data is wirelessly transmitted from the device.
