Christie slams de Blasio mayoral job

- Days after former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani blamed Mayor Bill de Blasio for the city's homeless crisis, NJ Gov. Chris Christie slammed Hizzoner for the city's increased crime rate.  Christie pointed to de Blasio's "liberal" law-and-order policies for the spike in crime in the nation's largest city.

The Republican presidential candidate and de Blasio appeared separately Tuesday on MSNBC's "Morning Joe." The Democratic mayor says New York streets are safer under his watch, though he acknowledged there have been more homicides this year than at this point in 2014.

The 2016 Republican presidential hopeful says people are getting "more and more fed up" with crime and the city should resurrect a stop-and-frisk police policy.

Mayoral spokesman Peter Kadushin says Christie is as confused about New York's crime figures as he is about his own polling numbers.

Says Kadushin: "They are both down."

Christie says President Barack Obama's policies have also contributed to lawlessness.
