Vice President Biden in New York City on cancer mission

- Vice President Joe Biden was in New York City Thursday as part of the National Cancer Moonshot Initiative, which is his final push to find a cure for cancer while he still in office.

He made his first stop inside of a lab at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. He spoke with researchers and scientists working to develop a cure for leukemia.

During the round table discussion with oncologists, nurses, and scientists, Biden spoke about his personal ties to the disease. His son, Beau, died in 2015 of brain cancer.

The vice president is pushing to speed up the process when it comes to prevention, detection, and access to research.

The entire Memorial Sloan Kettering community is fully committed to helping their patients and hopefully finding a cure.
