Quality not quantity of time with mom is important

So many mothers often feel guilty that they don't spend enough time with their children.

But a new study that solely focused on mothers reveals that the amount of time she spends with her kids is actually irrelevant when it comes to the child's future success. Rather, it is all about the quality.

Incredibly, the study -- which will be published in April's Journal of Marriage and Family -- found that there are times when spending time with your children can even be detrimental. An example: when mom is stressed, anxious, or sleep deprived.

The study found the more time a teen spends engaged with his mother -- like during a simple sit-down dinner -- the less likely he will exhibit delinquent behavior.

So what is the perfect amount of time to spend with your child? The study didn't say. It only said to make sure it counts.
