NEW YORK (FOX 5 NEWS) - The Metropolitan Museum of Art's Met Gala celebrates the museum's new fashion exhibit Manus x Machina, curated by Andrew Bolton. Fox 5 brings you a sneak peek at the incredible clothing before the stars even got to see it.
From laser cutting to machine printing, from Chanel to Louis Vuitton, the Manus x Machina exhibit explores the many techniques and technologies that have added new dimension to haute couture and ready to wear since the early 20th Century. And by showcasing the fusion of machine and handmade garments, the exhibit challenges preconceptions about quality and craftsmanship.
But beyond the glitz and glamour of the party, the Met Gala makes a meaningful impact beyond the red carpet, having raised a reported $12.5 million last year alone.
