NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - As a member of the "trial of the century,' Harvard Law professor and famed attorney Alan Dershowitz was catapulted into the spotlight during the 1994 double murder trial of O.J. Simpson. More than two decades later, he was again a part of a high profile case, only this time as the defendant.
In 2015, Dershowitz was accused by Virginia Roberts Giuffre of having sex with her when she was a minor at the behest of Dershowitz's one-time client and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
"She made up everything about me. The woman simply sat there and made up the story. I never met her . I didn’t know her. I am a victim of false accusations and victims should come forward," said Dershowitz.
The Borough Park, Brooklyn native is calling for the Giuffre to be indicted, prosecuted and jailed.
“A criminal lawyer for 50 years and I had always wondered what it was like to be falsely accused. It kind of like a capstone to my career, I feel like the biblical character Joseph who was falsely accused. They picked on the wrong, innocent person. I have fought and the lawyers acknowledge it was a mistake,' said Dershowitz.
