NEW YORK (FOX5NY) - A woman was reportedly slashed in the back of the neck Thursday morning on a street in Brooklyn by a man wearing an American flag doo-rag.
The NYPD descended on the area of Beverly Rd. and Rugby Rd. in Ditmas Park at about 9:50 a.m. where the woman was attacked before the man ran off. Police recovered a knife and the packaging it came in.
SkyFoxHD was over the scene where the knife could be seen on the sidewalk. The assailant also left behind the bandana, reported the NY Daily News.
The victim was rushed to Maimonides Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Late Wednesday night, two joggers were stabbed, minutes apart, by the same man in different locations inside Prospect Park, according to police. The suspect was apprehended in that incident.
There have been more than 600 slashings or stabbings in the city so far this year.
