NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - One person was killed and 13 people injured in a 10-vehicle crash in the Bloomfield section of Staten Island.
The deadly crash occurred around 1:43 p.m. on Sunday at Victory Boulevard and Travis Avenue.
The 75-year-old driver of one of the vehicles was pronounced dead at the scene.
Four of the injured were taken to Staten Island Hospital and six were rushed to Richmond Hospital.
A female driving a sedan was involved in a minor accident before speeding northbound on Travis Avenue and striking several vehicles waiting at a red light, according to the NYPD.
The woman's vehicle went airborne and hit several moving cars as she traveled the intersection.
She was rushed to Staten Island Hospital in critical condition.
An investigation by police is underway.
