A man stabbed a woman and her three children inside a hotel on Staten Island Wednesday, authorities said. The mother and two of the children died.

The victims were rushed to Richmond University Medical Center where the mother and a 19-month-old girl were pronounced dead. A 5-month-old girl died later. A 2-year-old girl remains in critical condition.

Police are searching for Michael Sykes, 23, who is believed to be the father of the 5-month-old.

Authorities say the incident occurred around 10 a.m. Wednesday at a Ramada Inn on North Gannon Avenue.

Sykes reportedly called his mother early Wednesday to say he was going to kill his girlfriend, Rebecca Cutler, 26, and himself.

A large crime scene was set up outside of the hotel.
