Local Sales Manager  

Description

The FOX O&O duopoly in the #1 market seeks a dynamic Local Sales Manager.  The ideal candidate will have proven leadership skills and will be dedicated to building the best local sales staff in New York.  This candidate must lead, train, coach, encourage and supervise the Account Executives while creating a positive culture that is focused on maintaining and building strong client relationships that translate to positive share and revenue growth. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage, hire and train a team of local sales account executives;
• Accurately identify, monitor and forecast sales and marketing trends for key business segments;
• Implement quarterly strategies developed by management team in order to impact share and revenue objectives;
• Develop a strong commitment to new and existing account growth by providing creative, customized solutions for clients;

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:
• Strong problem solving, communication and analytical skills required;
• Must possess strong time management and organizational skills and must be able to work in a fast paced, high-pressured, evolving environment;
• A minimum 3 years of sales management experience in a major market with a proven track record in share and revenue growth preferred;
• Local television station experience a plus
• Proficiency with Excel, Word, One Domain, Wide Orbit Sales, Wide Orbit Traffic, Rentrak and Power Point;
• Must a have solid knowledge of new business development and digital sales

HVAC Engineer

Operation, maintenance and repair of air conditioning and heating systems, fire prevention equipment including fire and house pumps, standpipes, sprinkler systems, knowledge of Class E fire alarm system, control panel and portable fire extinguishers, compressor banks and cooling tower operations; must have knowledge of water treatment procedures for all closed loop and house water systems. Must be I.U.O.E. Local 30 member; individual must be certified as an Operating Engineer possessing both Refrigeration and CFC Licenses; must have either a Fire Safety or Deputy Fire Safety Director certificate issued by the FDNY and standpipe, sprinkler certificates; other FDNY certificates a plus; must have at least 3-5 years’ experience in HVAC plant operations and plumbing experience; must be able to work flexible hours and various shifts.

IT SYSTEMS SUPPORT ANALYST (part-time)

Field technical questions via phone, e-mail, remote assistance and in-person to efficiently diagnose system issues; communicate regularly with end users and IT Manager throughout the troubleshooting process and resolve issues; perform basic diagnostic and troubleshooting for various systems; escalate issues internally (in the event where the issue cannot be resolved via normal troubleshooting steps). Regularly contribute to system improvements; utilize self-service technical support tools end users, such as FAQ's, knowledge base, manuals, etc.; provide basic training to end-users, when required, on support issues or software installation, changes or upgrades. Configure new and existing assets; resolve basic network connectivity issues; perform and maintain backups; deploy and mitigate updates and patches for various vendors; assist with Sox Procedures – (Daily, Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly); maintain change control and inventory in asset management system; maintain required documentation; research and evaluate various hardware and software requirements. Client Support, Tech Support, Software Support, Information Technology Support, Client Services: must have an understanding basic Information Technologies, ideally in the area of Microsoft Windows, PC desktop hardware, office automation and collaborative messaging systems; efficient organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a high-volume, fast-paced environment; basic problem-solving and decision-making skills; must be detail oriented and able to interface effectively via phone or email with both technical and non-technical users; ability to remain composed, sharp, and focused at all times and in stressful situations; Associate’s degree (technical or otherwise) and 1 to 3 years equivalent technical work experience or 3 to 5 years of work experience and a COMPTIA A+ certification required; Bachelor’s degree (technical or otherwise) and 3 to 5 years equivalent technical work experience or 5 to 7 years of work experience and a Microsoft certified professional preferred.

BROADCAST MAINTENANCE ENGINEER (Secaucus, NJ)

WNYW/WWOR is seeking a skilled Broadcast Maintenance Engineer to perform daily preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and problem solving of all equipment associated with 24/7/365 television operations, e.g., maintenance of automated Master Control, Studio, Automated Production Control Rooms, Remote Production ENG, Post Production, Newsroom Video Playback and Archive solution, ENG/SNG operations, NAS systems, Non Linear edit systems and satellite distribution systems. The selected candidate will assist in system design, construction and commissioning of new technologies at studio, transmitter, and remote facilities.

Description

This position is located at MY 9/WWOR-TV in Secaucus, New Jersey.

Work closely with VP/Station Manager to manage all production/quality aspects of MY9 website; perform duties of on-line writer/producer specializing in video, writing and editorial gathering; facilitate the gathering of local web news, interface with Chasing News, to reproducing the material into a strong compelling web presentation; interface with editorial managers and supervisors from the broadcasting side of newsroom to create a cohesive working atmosphere, managing the delivery of content using new distribution platforms; ensure web sites are coded to standards consistent with web style guides set by national in-house team; assist VP/Station Manager with community outreach, scheduling and internal communications.

Qualifications

NEW BUSINESS ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Fox O & O duopoly in New York, WNYW FOX 5 and WWOR MY 9, seeks a highly motivated, team oriented professional to develop and maintain new business sales efforts for the stations. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with the ability to identify new business opportunities, engage in constant face-to-face sales calls, possess a creative approach to multi-platform sales initiatives and consistently close new business deals. Candidate must meet or exceed quarterly new business goals and is responsible for managing developed accounts as well as creating strong marketing presentations that clearly outline station's ability to meet the needs of prospective new business clients.

REQUIREMENTS: Individual must be a self-starter who can work independently; must possess strong communication skills, ability to cold call and fully develop new business accounts. Must have a working knowledge of Nielsen ratings; solid presentation skills with proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel; candidate must be able to demonstrate prospecting skills, identify new revenue streams as well as redirect revenue from other mediums. Position requires excellent communication and problem-solving skills and the ability to create and present sales decks. Television sales experience is preferred.

FACILITIES DIRECTOR

RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide general management, supervision, and professional direction for comprehensive facilities management organization that provides: Infrastructure maintenance and repair; oversight for technical renovations; and other day-to-day maintenance services in and around the Station facilities in both New York and New Jersey.

FOX Television Stations, FOX 5/WNYW and MY 9/WWOR offers a hands on six month training program for College Graduates interested in obtaining valuable experience in the various fields of Television Broadcasting. This training program requires no previous broadcast work experience, thereby, when the six-months training period is completed, the goal is to provide the trainee with the prerequisite skills to acquire an entry-level position in the broadcasting field.
