Director of Traffic
WNYW/WWOR, the FOX O&O in the #1 television market, seeks a dynamic individual to lead the efforts of the traffic department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for all activities of the Traffic Department including supervision of the quality and accuracy of the daily logs. This includes scheduling of commercials, dub lists, purge lists, log editing, processing of copy, programming format accuracy, break structures, and inventory management. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for hiring, training and supervision of staff, including off-site copy team based in Secaucus, NJ. The Director of Traffic will also coordinate with Sales Managers in an effort to maximize inventory and revenues for the stations. Candidate must be able to effectively manage inventory control process by implementing accountability metrics for the department staff, ability to work in advance with program formats and break structures to reflect the most current inventory scenarios for sales management; strong knowledge of maximizing daypart revenues through consistent and frequent inventory management. The Director of Traffic also works closely with master control operators, finance, programming and news departments. Candidate must possess strong communication and problem solving skills. Five+ years of Broadcast Traffic and management experience strongly preferred; Working knowledge of Wide Orbit is essential. Must be willing to work off hours and travel to our office in New Jersey as needed.
Operation, maintenance and repair of air conditioning and heating systems, fire prevention equipment including fire and house pumps, standpipes, sprinkler systems, knowledge of Class E fire alarm system, control panel and portable fire extinguishers, compressor banks and cooling tower operations; must have knowledge of water treatment procedures for all closed loop and house water systems.
Must be I.U.O.E. Local-30 member. Individual must be certified as an Operating Engineer possessing both Refrigeration and CFC Licenses; must have either a Fire Safety or Deputy Fire Safety Director certificate issued by the FDNY and standpipe, sprinkler certificates; other FDNY certificates a plus; must have at least 3-5 years experience in HVAC plant operations and plumbing experience; must be able to work flexible hours and various shifts.
Freelance Web Producer
Work closely with Editorial team to conceptualize/produce high profile creative on-line material; perform duties of on-line writer/producer, specializing in print style writing, copy editing and editorial gathering; facilitate the editorial gathering of local web news, gleaning information from various sources and contacts and reproducing the above material into strong compelling web material; interface with Editorial managers and supervisors from the Broadcasting side of newsroom to create a cohesive working atmosphere, managing the delivery of content using new distribution platforms; produce and post to the station’s various social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat. Bachelor’s degree plus 1-3 years of web production experience; Solid understanding of web standards, design and usability; knowledge of common web and application architectures; knowledge of print and broadcast newsroom standards and styles; understanding of user on-line behavior; knowledge of internet publishing software and content management systems; position

Provide professional make-up services for On-Air Talent, Guests, Performers, Presenters, and other Personnel on all Productions both in-house and as required at remote locations; must maintain adequate inventory of supplies and provide these services in accordance with all Federal, State, Local and Industry health standards. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a major market broadcast facility as a professional make-up artist with the majority of that experience coming from working with On-Air Talent and Performers preferred; must be able to work flexible schedules including but not limited to, hours, days, overtime and holidays; experienced with using a wide variety of professional make-up products; be able to maintain make-up continuity for all shows; must be experienced working with a wide variety of skin types, ages and genders; excellent verbal communication skills is required; able to function well with aggressive deadlines in high stress situations; must work well with others in a team environment.
BROADCAST MAINTENANCE ENGINEER (Secaucus, NJ)
WNYW/WWOR is seeking a skilled Broadcast Maintenance Engineer to perform daily preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and problem solving of all equipment associated with 24/7/365 television operations, e.g., maintenance of automated Master Control, Studio, Automated Production Control Rooms, Remote Production ENG, Post Production, Newsroom Video Playback and Archive solution, ENG/SNG operations, NAS systems, Non Linear edit systems and satellite distribution systems. The selected candidate will assist in system design, construction and commissioning of new technologies at studio, transmitter, and remote facilities.
