Transgender former NAVY SEAL strikes back at Trump

- After serving 20 years as a NAVY SEAL, Christopher Beck transitioned to a woman. Now Kristin Beck, she told Good Day New York on Thursday that President Donald Trump's Tweet announcing a reinstatement of the ban on transgender people serving in the military as making no sense.

On Wednesday, Trump wrote:  "After consultation with my Generals and military experts, please be advised that the United States Government will not accept or allow ...Transgender individuals to  serve in any capacity in the U.S. Military. Our military must be focused on decisive and overwhelming victory and cannot be burdened with the tremendous medical costs and disruption that transgender in the military would entail. Thank you."

"The Tweet is disruptive," said Beck. "I am not disruptive and none of my friends who are serving active duty are disruptive. We are serving with honor. We have capability and worth that is far more expensive than anyone would know if you just get rid of us."

The former member of the illustrious SEAL Team 6 says there are soldiers who speak multiple languages and have years of experience who would have to leave the military.

As for the medical costs associated with trans service men and women, a reported more than $8M increase in spending, Beck points out that many never undergo any surgeries, like he has not.

"So the cost estimates are probably closer to $2M. It's craziness," said Beck.
